Position Title: Mechanic

Reporting: Mechanic supervisor

Location: Philadelphia, PA

3rd shift (12am-8am)/ 2nd shift (4pm-12am)

 

I.  Essential Functions:  Mechanic I

 

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the responsibility for the efficient and effective maintenance and support of plant production equipment that may include Pouch Line, Bio Tech, and Blister Area individually, not collectively.  Provides mechanical support to both operations and technical staff.  Mechanics will be held accountable for the proficiency of the setup performed as well as the duration of the task.

 

II. Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: Mechanic I

 

Demonstrates proficiency in all competency areas of a Mechanic I
Demonstrates the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Performs all work in accordance with established identified duties for the Mechanic I position, in the Pouch Line, Bio Tech, Blister Area.
Demonstrates mechanical-troubleshooting abilities, identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic techniques.
Provides guidance and assistance to other mechanics in the performance of their duties.  Will train Operator III
Posses the ability to adapt to changing work priorities based upon production requirements.
Possesses good communication skills-give and receive verbal instruction
Seeks out and adapts to cross training opportunities

 

III.  Position Requirements:

Reports to:

Mechanical Supervisor

 

Supervises:

Works independently with minimal supervision or direction from his/her direct supervisor.  Instructs support personnel when necessary in performance of their duties.

Education or Equivalent:

High School Diploma or equivalent education.  Technical or Vocational training preferred

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

 Previous experience of 2-3 years employment within a packaging related industry within a cGMP environment.  Satisfactory completion of a mechanical aptitude test prior to assignment.

 Physical Requirements:

 Ability to lift 60lbs on a frequent and routine basis
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Manual dexterity along with visual acuity
